On Saturday June 12 we set in the midst of heavy rain to make our way to South Bend, Indiana where we were graciously hosted by Rev. Janell & Brian Bloem. The youth group from First Baptist, South Bend met us and we had a fun evening of skits, games and food. Brian & Janell hosted the boys overnight while Tom & Phyllis Lang hosted the girls.
On Sunday June 13 went to church at FBC, South Bend. In Sunday School we studied “The Gospel According to Dr. Suees” and read “Horton Hears a Who.” We had a wonderful discussion about how God listens to all people but how we often ignore those that are different from us. It was a great beginning to our mission trip. We then worshiped at FBC and heard Pastor Janell preach about mistakes and forgiveness.
